Up for auction is a copy of The US Double Quartet’s “Life Is Groovy” LP, released circa 1969 on BT Puppy, cat no BTPS 1005. This is an Australian pressing. An amalgamation of The Tokens and The Kirby Stone Four, the LP is stylistically also a meeting of 50s & 60s pop, which must have sounded pretty anachronistic in 1969, but is pulled off with characteristic aplomb from Margo, Medress, Siegel & co. Features covers of Beatles, Jimmy Webb and Paul Simon material, along with self-composed numbers which only appear on this LP (which has never appeared on CD). Almost all B T Puppy albums are hideously rare, this one is certainly one of the rarer. Condition: cover has a few minor creases & a little ring wear, but is generally not too bad (no writing, tears, etc); vinyl is problem-free. VG+/EX (cover/vinyl). My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings.
