H.P. LOVECRAFT - II ( Philips SBL 7872 / 852 126 BY ), UK !! 1968
George Edwards, Dave Michaels, Tony Cavallari, Jeff Boyan and Michael Tegza from Chicago / Illinois recorded in June / July 1968 (released in August 1968) one of THE masterpieces of the 60ies psychedelic rock scene. An unbelievable album from the beginning to the end - the eerie atmosphere from the literature of the brillant writer was transported perfectly to vinyl from this collective on both of their LPs (rumoured that the band recorded this album under the influence of LSD). The music of this band has not lost his fascination for me since decades (of course, both of their albums never leave my collection - have the UK and US originals now in perfect condition, so my old UK copy is here for sale). This is, the much harder to find UK original - comes in front laminated gatefold cover !!!
The front laminated cover is in very good (vg) condition, showing wear on and around the corners, some wear on bottom seam, spine is taped with a clear tape for protection, has a tear on the backcover on the top left side, where the record goes in for 2,5 X 0,7 cm
The record is in very good (vg) condition, showing a lot of hairlines and paper scuffs, plays with some soft surface cracklings in the background in places here and there, but NOT in a loud or disturbing way
