USHA IYER Scotch And Soda (Odeon SMOCE 2006) The Savages RARE India 1st Pressing MINT-
Very RARE Indian first pressing of Usha Iyer`s debut album "Scotch And Soda", released on Odeon Records (1969). Musical accompaniment on "Midnight Hour" and "California Dreaming" is by Bombay`s finest beat band, The Savages. On all other tracks, Usha Iyer is accompanied by The Ronnie Menezes Quartet.
"Usha Iyer just happened! There is no other way to describe this artiste who, in her simple saries and deceptive mannerisms bowled the youngster over! For days after her Calcutta debut, her singing was the talk of the town. Never was there a young gathering where she wasn`t discussed. And in what ecstatic terms!" - From the liner notes.
