Description

Unissued Vocalion Test Pressing-Ambassadors-red shellac

Here is an unissued red shellac Vocalion test pressing done by the Ambassadors entitled "Dream Daddy." This single-sided disc measures 12" in diameter, but it is a 10" song (run-ins are over an inch-see photo).

The matrix number is 12562. A quick glance at Rust's Dance Band books does not show this as being issued. The song was issued on Vocalion 14747 with matrix 12561. I have listened to the issued record, and there are substantial differences when comparing the two.

A date of 1/10/24 is written on the blank label.

It is in excellent (E) condition, and of course the reverse is blank.

Ernest Hare sings the vocal refrain.
