Unknown 60s Blues One Sided Acetate “Rainin’” Hammond Organ Blues Studio Recording one sided. VG+ some light marks, plays pretty good for being an old acetate with some light crackle and hiss below the music like 98% of old acetates do. Hasn’t been over played or abused. Housed in its original sleeve like I found it.
A Hammond organ based slow straight up blues ballad with electric guitar and light percussion that sounds like the drummer is hitting the rim of the snare drum and lightly tapping the bass drum. By the sound this is definitely early 60s and probably a South Central Los Angeles artist. It was found Here in Los Angeles with the other acetate, test pressings and promos I’m listing. The estate where this was found was that of someone who had a connection to the famous Soul singer Jewel Akens. Los Angeles had many blues clubs in the 60s where this style of Hammond organ driven blues was played in the 50s and 60s. This song is actually a very good ballad “Tail Dragger” type song with great musicianship and lyrics. This was definitely a seasoned blues player recording artist or blues bar regular performer.
