Really remarkable band w/ no 2 tracks sounding the same. Awesome drums and horns on all tracks – recorded loud and soooo clean. I mention ALL tracks as I have 2 different 45’s from this band listed right now. Please listen to the samples of all – so much fun and so funky!
Can’t find anything about this band online and only one of the 45’s has sold before. From the look of the labels and the genre mixture of the tracks, guessing this is from the late 70’s. Need to Love You / Given You My Life sounds earlier 70’s and even earlier w/ 60’s psych influences. While the Sandra / Company Fool record sounds much more progressive w/ obvious 70’s disco and new wave influences. Both records are long w/ one of the tracks clocking in at 5:05 each.
No info on the label, so assume on a private label. In the runouts, reads “MB” and then the catalog number from the labels. “CSM” is etched—would be surprised if this was pressed at the Santa Maria CBS pressing plant—but maybe?

Given you My Life:
This track goes everywhere. The intro is a guitar strumming w/ flute over it. Then, half of the track has an upbeat ska / funk beat, then half-way through the track, out of nowhere, there is an organ / w/ mariachi style horn breakdown w/ funky wah-wah guitar and INSANE sax solo over it. The sax adds a key change and just sends it! The guitar comes back for a solo w/ an under-water psych filter on it, then back to the sax to closeout the breakdown, then back to the ska-beat--- CRAZY funky!
I Need to Love You:
Starts w/ a 50’s vibrato style guitar w/ some wind blowing and then drops into a killer soul-jazz beat w/ sax, then adds the vocals that is super heady 60’s psych-crooner style. The chorus reminds me of a like a pop standard that never existed. Then drops into a great conga + sax breakdown.

Likely never played before I got it. It is clean w/ only minimal imperfections. A couple pops/ tics in quiet spots and a little background noise during intros. The record plays very loud and clean. An awesome copy of an extremely rare record.
