Description

Unwound 'Empire' 4 x LP box set, plus bonus LP. Produced by the Numero Group in 2015 as part of their reissues of Unwound's discography, this is the fourth and last box set.
**This was sent in error, so the set you are bidding on hasn't even been opened. Pictures are from another set.**
The 'Empire' includes:

  • Challenge for a Civilized Society (1998) - completely remastered for this release, 180 gram vinyl
  • Leaves Turn Inside You (2xLPs) (2001) - also lovingly remastered, 2 x 180 gram vinyl discs
  • LP of bonus B-sides, unreleased tracks, demos
  • Peel Sessions LP of a session the band did for the famous project in 1999
  • Download code for all 30+ tracks in FLAC or MP3 format
  • an accompanying book featuring an essay on the band's final years, the making of the last two albums and the reasons for their breakup. Includes many photos of the band from the period.
Upon release this box set was awarded 'Best New Reissue' in the review on Pitchfork and we would certainly agree! This is debatably the band's best work, while also acknowledging it documents a time of great stylistic change.
