V.A. Woodstock Nation Kickapoo Festival Illinois May,1970 Atlasta Record Company
Here's a Very Old Bootleg LP titled Woodstock Nation. It's a Various Artists collection from the Kickapoo Festival held on Dave Lewis's Farm in Heyworth, Illinois from Friday May 29th thru Sunday May 31st,1970. This was Illinois's version of a Woodstock type Festival. Some of the artists appearing were: Canned Heat, B.B. King, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Country Joe and the Fish, Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes and Sha Na Na who are all represented on the LP, plus many other acts. 60 Thousand people showed up over Memorial Day Weekend to get stoned, listen to music and generally have a good time. The LP Cover says it's issued by the Atlasta Record Company (with Balls). The Label says Bananaz Records. This 1st Pressing was released in 1971. The number of copies pressed vary between 500 and 2000 LP's and most of them were Not released making this an Extremely Rare Album. The music and announcements are pretty wild and make for a Interesting listen !! Songs included are: the Dukes- Ted's Fittest Licks, B.B. King- The Thrill Is Gone, Butterfield B.B.- Born Under a Bad Sign, the Fish- Not So Sweet Martha Loraine, Canned Heat- Let's Work Together and Sha Na Na- Yakety Yak / Teen Angel. Condition of the LP is VG- with a few light scratches and a pressing defect (seen in photo) that looks rough but plays thru fine. Paper wraparound insert is VG+ but plain white cover's top is split.
