Description

"Over the Rainbow" by Judy Garland

on V Disc # 335 from World War II. War Department.

V DISC's are 12 inch 78 rpm records with usually 2 songs per side.

NICE!!!

V-Disc (V is for "Victory") was a exclusive production of recordings during the World War II era by special arrangement between the US and various record companies. The records were produced for the use of United States military personnel overseas. Many popular singers, bog bands and orchestras of the era recorded special V-Disc records. These 12-inch, vinyl 78 rpm gramophone recordings were created for the army between October 1943 and May 1949. Navy discs were released between July 1944 and September 1945. Since these were produced to send to the troops, not many are still around - unless the army, navy, marines, etc brought them back home.

Condition - V+ some light scratches but plays with no skips. (Judy's Voice is bright and strong)

SONGS:

Somewhere Over the Rainbow, I May Be Wrong But I Think You're Wonderful (both Judy Garland w/Tommy Dorsey orchestra)

Let the Rest of The World Go By, Dear Little Boy of Mine, A Little Bit of Heaven (all 3 by Dick Haymes)
