JOHN FRED AND THE PLAYBOYS - SHIRLEY / MY LOVE FOR YOU
THIS IS A VERY RARE 78 ISSUE ON THE JAMAICAN TROPICAL LABEL AND IS IN EX/EX- CONDITION
THE SONGS WERE ORIGINALLY ON THE LOUISIANA MONTEL LABEL, BUT NEVER ISSUED ON 78 IN THE US OR EUROPE. IT IS A PROPER ORIGINAL SHELLAC 78.
THE 'A' SIDE IS SWAMP ROCK'N'ROLL AND THE 'B' SIDE IS BLUES
PLEASE NOTE HIGH VALUE PARCELS (£50 +) NEED TRACKING/INSURANCE SO WAIT FOR MY INVOICE.
PACKING: I pack really well. I 'sandwich' the record/s between two thick pieces of cardboard, surround it with packing - scrunched up newspaper and/or bubble-wrap/polystyrene chips - and put it/them in a stout cardboard box. I have been sending records all over the world to regular collectors and dealers for many years. I have had only arrive cracked.
POSTAGE: See charges below . Please ignore ebay's charge as UK postage fees went up in late April. I am happy to combine records to cut down the cost of postage. (I can safely mail up to six 78s for the 'cheaper' small packet postage rate to Europe and the US. Anything above the 2 kilos rate costs about twice as much)
UK STANDARD POSTAGE IS £5 FOR THE FIRST 78, THEN £1 FOR EACH EXTRA
CONTINENTAL EUROPE £ 7 (probably) FOR FIRST + £1.50 EACH EXTRA REST OF WORLD PLEASE CONTACT
CONDITION / GRADING : M = Mint, New. + and - give clearer gradings.
Ex = Excellent - played but few marks & sounds great.
VG = Very good, played many times, with scuff/wear & only a little surface noise
Where there are two conditions given, for example, Ex/VG, it means that the first side is in Excellent condition and the second VG.
Please note that I grade mainly by sound. 78s can look quite beat but still play Ex-
Labels are clean unless stated otherwise or as in photos.
