WOW!!! RARE and HARD TO FIND original Philips Records very first High Fidelity MONO press released and made by Philips Records, distributed in Argentina in 1964 by Phonogram S.A.I.C., catalog number 82026 PL, with machine etched matrix numbers 82026 1L in Side 1 and 82026 1L in Side 2, with traditional blue/silver Philips Records labels. Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile, this time an Argentinian LP including The Beatles and Johnny Hallyday among others!!!

“CITA CON LAS ESTRELLAS” is a compilation record released in Argentina in 1964, with some of the artists of the companies (Philips, Polydor, MGM and Mercury) distributed by Argentinian Phonogram S.A.I.C. This compilation album was exclusive for Argentinian market with the special Philips Records logo “Cien Por Ciento Bailable” (One Hundred Percent Danceable) and sure it’s a very interesting selection of danceable songs of the period, including 4 songs by The Beatles!!! The cover is made of two pieces of thick cardboard with two sheets of paper for front and back cover fully glued to the cardboards and with front cover pasted on the flaps of back cover. Front cover has a very simple design, the album title and the artists included in the record inside colored boxes. Back cover has the album title and the artists included at top edge, the Philips logo “Cien Por Ciento Bailable”, the credits for Phonogram S.A.I.C. and Philips records at bottom edge and the tracklist written in Spanish, translated to English, except “Danke Schoen” (written in German), with full credits for songwriters and original record companies. In labels the album title and tracklist are written in Spanish only, except “Danke Schoen” (written in German), with full credits for songwriters and original record companies. An interesting fact to notice in this compilation album and something usual in Argentina those years is that names of the bands are written in Spanish, not in the original language, so The Beatles are “LOS Beatles”, The Four Seasons are “LAS CUATRO ESTACIONES”, The Blue Diamonds are “LOS DIAMANTES AZULES” and The Gams are “LAS Gams”. And of course you could have already noticed that the four songs credited to The Beatles are songs of the Hamburg period, originally released as Tony Sheridan with The Beatles (The Beat Brothers), but of course, after the success of The Beatles the songs were re-credited to The Beatles only. So, here you have the chance to get and own this MEGARARE COMPILATION LP RELEASED IN ARGENTINA ONLY, with a very nice selection of oldies, including among others Johnny Hallyday, Lesley Gore, Connie Francis singing in Spanish and 4 songs by The Beatles and with unusual Spanish-written name of the bands!!! WOW!!! 

The cover was already described and it’s in nice VG- or VG condition, with wear in all edges, more evident at top and bottom where someone used a tape to cover the seam splits, but the spine is still solid, with writings, some creases, little rips and little tears, evident age browning and marks of humidity in back cover and some faint blemishes, but it’s still a very solid cover, the cardboard is thick and has survived very well. The record is in nice VG or VG+ condition both sides, glossy and clean, with many light scuffs and hairlines, and soft scratches, which don’t affect play at all. Labels are in great EX or even EX+ condition both sides, clean and clear, with only some spindle hole wear and writings hard to see at first sight in both sides. The sound is in strong VG- or VG condition both sides, loud, clean and clear, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with constant soft crackles and some occasional pops and clicks here and there, more evident in song “The Big Build Up” (I detected something like a pop or a micro jump) and in “Theme From “Dr. Kildare” (Three Stars Will Shine Tonight” (it has a loud pop), which of course don’t cause major distraction from the still loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, this is a great record, sure not for Minty minds or audiophiles, but with a very glossy and clean look, almost immaculate labels and still a very decent and respectable sound quality after about 55 years, which shouldn’t disappoint anyone!!! And keep in mind this album has an UNIQUE COVER, it’s a MONO PRESS, it’s an UNIQUE COMPILATION released only in Argentina, includes a song by Connie Francis sung in Spanish and 4 songs by The Beatles with all the names of the bands included written in Spanish!!! Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending on thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP10 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first.
