Description: This is a very nice copy of a compilation flexi-LP, which was the first release from the Richmond, VA,-based label Artifacts label. This item was issued in 1978, although no date is listed on the cover. Released on a blazingly red flexi, It is also a numbered edition of 1000 copies, of which this is #753. (Note that the $1.50 "sticker" on the cover is actually part of the printed artwork.)
Additional Info: Amazing early release on Artifacts, this consists of a lot of basement DIY skronk, improv, and other free music all recorded between 1970-76 that shows there was some activity going on out of sight in Richmond. Heavy similarity to the earliest LAFMS releases. If this had been a regular vinyl LP, it would probably be slightly better known, but still very obscure. The last extra I had of this release I traded to Chris Freeman at Fusetron, who was elated to get a copy and swapped an upgrade of the Ceramic Hello 7" for it (this was over ten years ago.) Anyway, this record is much harder to find than the Bomis Prendin flexis, and remains a mysterious item for those interested in American underground DIY sounds.
