Description

This is a like-new copy of the "Lipa Kodi Ya City Council" LP, released by Mississippi Records in 2007. The vinyl is in great condition, as is the paste-on cover (which is actually for a Brahms LP). Out of print.

Label description: "We consider this some of the most beautiful music in the world. This LP contains hard to find pan-African music in the styles of R&B (Moussa Doumbi), pop (Kabushi & Mwenya, Frida Sonko), highlife (George Mukabi, Isaya Mwino), folk (Yaseen Mohammed & Saada), palm wine guitar music (S.E. Rogie), Juju (Sami Kamar & The Black Diamonds) and choral music (Noviciat de Soeurs Missionaires). Twelve tracks total from Mali, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Somalia, Uganda and Rwanda. Recordings made from 1967-1972. Hand silkscreened paste-on covers."
