Here with its fourth reissue to date, Rio singer, composer and arranger Marcos Valle cut Previsao Do Tempo (Weather Forecast) in 1973, midway through a run of increasingly restless records, with Vento Sul behind him and another self-titled LP on the way. Recorded at Rio's Odeon Studios, it pairs him with Azymuth as backing band, their intuitive jazz-funk lingua franca giving careful muscle to songs penned under Brazil's military regime. Urgent assertions to the listener slip past, unblown by the cover of breezy bossa nova and diatonic harmony, though the tension is discernible in the funk felicitation 'Mentira', and latter-record moribunds such as 'Os Ossos Do Barao' and 'Flamengo Ate Morrer'.
