EXTRAS: Includes the original poster that could be requested from Charisma after purchasing the album. It features lyrics, images and some writing by Peter Hammill. This is fully intact and in EXCELLENT CONDITION, the poster has been stored inside the sleeve for 40 years. However it has been folded really badly and not symmetrically (which is annoying). With some love and attention, and possibly some framing if you’re inclined, it could be returned to it’s former glory. The extra extra bonus with this particular copy is some promotional material included with the record. Firstly, there are 2 original glossy press photographs from 1970. Please note that the 2 photos are identical (one added to images above). Secondly, a typed press release is included. This is 2 stapled sheets of light orange/pink paper with black type, folded in half. This gives a brief biography of the band up to this point. Although there is no mention of the author it very much sounds like it could be Tony Stratton-Smith, head honcho of Charisma records and VDGG manager at this time. The press release and photos are in NEAR MINT CONDITION. This LP has been in the possession of someone who worked in the industry at this time.
COVER: The gatefold sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition. There is some light wear from storage but no major damage.
VINYL: The LP is in VG condition. There are 5 or 6 surface marks and a couple of small areas of scuffing. However the LP plays through with just a few moments of pop and crackle but no jumps. Some may regard this as excellent but I’m quite harsh and can’t rate this above VG but would say it’s a strong VG. Despite the marks described the LP doesn’t actually look like it has been played that many times, some of the minor damage may have been caused by storage.
LABELS: Both labels are very, very clean, but there are a couple of spindle marks on each side.
