Description

Wow, what you are bidding on is a beautiful first pressing of VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR: TIME VAULTS on Demi Monde Records from the UK. Still sealed!!!!

A brief history: Intense British prog-rockers Van Der Graaf Generator turned out a couple of landmark albums in the early 1970s, before splitting in '72. After getting some solo work out of his system, singer Peter Hammill returned to steer the VDGG ship once more in '75. TIME VAULTS is an archival collection of "lost" recordings the band made during the interim, and its production was overseen by Hammill himself. It finds the band inching towards a more concise (though not exactly stripped-down) sound, and includes some embyronic versions of material that would crop up later on.

- Peter Hammill / vocals, guitars, keyboards
- Guy Evans / drums
- Hugh Banton / organ, bass pedals and guitar
- David Jackson / saxes, flutes
