Description
VAN PRINCE & ORCHESTRA feat Sahib Shihab *Adlon Hully Gully* pts I / II
LABEL: Adlon
COUNTRY: Denmark
CONDITION: neutral sleeve / record EX
A 'club sound' tip from a few years back... without the original sleeve I may add. This was actually a commercial record for Ballantine's Whiskey if I remember correctly, and soundwise it's a jazzy R&B dancefloor tune, featuring a host of various jazz notables of the time, notably saxophonist Sahib Shihab and legendary Catalan pianist Tete Montoliu, delivering a great jam in pt 2. Main vocals by Van Prince (?) add up to sort of a tittyshaker feel, but could sit nicely alongside stuff like Mark Murphy - Why don't you do right i.e. Just my opinion!
