Condizioni : la copertina apribile laminata su entrambi i lati esterni fu stampata in Francia. Qualche leggero graffio sulla laminatura è visibile in controluce.  L'angolo superiore sinistro presenta della moderata ammaccatura, vedi, per cortesia la foto n° 4. Nessun strappo, scritta o apertura lungo i bordi. La costolina pur intatta mostra sia il titolo che il numero di catalogo con l'eccezione della  lettera P di Philips che è un pò sbiadita a causa probabilmente di un urto subito in quel punto, foto n° 5; grande stato, EX+ / vinile ha un certo numero di segni superficiali in particolare sul secondo lato che tuttavia non condizionano affatto il perfetto ascolto; bello stato, gradazione solo visuale vg+/ ascolto near mint: VG++

Condition : laminated gatefold sleeve on both outer sides was printed in France. Some slight paper scuffs are visible against the light. The upper left corner shows some moderate bumping, please see photo # 4. No writing, tears and seam splits. Spine although intact, shows both the title and the catalog number with the exception of the letter P from Philips which is a little faded probably due to a bump, photo # 5, EX+ / vinyl has a certain number of scuffs and hairlines in particular on the second side which however do not affect at all the perfect listening, visually graded vg+, aurally graded near mint = VG++ 

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : prevalentemente musica elettronica  proveniente da sintetizzatori, tastiere ed altre apparecchiature, ricca di particolari effetti sonori, con inserimenti di vocalizzi femminili e percussioni. In riferimento all’epoca in cui Vangelis compose questa colonna sonora posso tranquillamente affermare che siamo di fronte a una bella opera d’avanguardia. Due improvvisi suoni elettronici simili a quelli di un rasoio su una superficie ruvida introducono la prima traccia: sintetizzatori, percussioni e un sottofondo di vocalizzi femminili creano un'atmosfera surreale. La seconda traccia contiene una ballata strumentale guidata dalle suadenti noti di una chitarra acustica con rombo d'automobili in sottofondo. Il terzo brano è caratterizzato da insistenti ed ossessive percussioni tipo Afro mentre nella traccia successiva un clavicembalo o uno strumento similare esegue un tema romantico che si snoda come una cantilena con l'intervento di vocalizzi femminili nella seconda parte. Il primo lato termina con un ottimo assolo di pianoforte interrotto nella parte finale da vari rumori elettronici come quello di una sirena. Il secondo lato è aperto da frenetiche percussioni alle quali si sovrappongono le sonorità delle tastiere e successivamente del flauto in una sorta di danza tribale. Nella seconda traccia rumorosi effetti sonori e soluzioni di musica d’avanguardia riflettono un’atmosfera drammatica con percussioni dalle lente cadenze che provocano in un animo sensibile un senso di morte o comunque di desolazione. La terza traccia è basata su vocalizzi femminili simili a lamenti e suoni elettronici. Il quarto brano include una giustapposizione fra rumorosi effetti sonori e vocalizzi femminili. L’album termina con un tema condotto dalle tastiere con un'atmosfera solo apparentemente lieta.

Notes : mainly electronic music from synthesizers, keyboards and other devices, full of special sound effects, with involvement of female wordless vocalism and percussion. With reference to the time when Vangelis composed this film score I can affirm that we are faced with a beautiful work of avant-garde. Two sudden electronic sounds similar to those of a razor on a rough surface introduce the first track wherein synthesizers, percussion and female vocalisms in the background create a surreal atmosphere. The second track is an instrumental ballad led by the mellow notes of an acoustic guitar with some roar of cars in the background. The third piece is characterized by persistent and obsessive Afro percussion whereas in the further track, a harpsichord or a similar instrument performs a romantic theme that runs like a singsong and with the participation of female vocalisms in the second part. The first side ends with a nice piano solo interrupted at the end by various electronic noises as that of a siren. The second side is opened by hectic percussion in overlap with the sonorities of the keyboards and later the flute in a kind of tribal dance. In the second track noisy sound effects and solutions of avant-garde music reflect a dramatic atmosphere with percussion by slow cadences which suggest a sense of death or in any case desolation in a sensitive soul. The third track is based on female vocalizations like lamentations and electronic sounds. The fourth piece includes a juxtaposition of loud sound effects and female vocalizations. The album ends with a theme led by the keyboards with an atmosphere only apparently happy.
