UPDATE 23 MARCH just listed a complimentary Vanguard Szigeti and Bartok playing Piano/Violin Sonatas.

Even rarer than this set, Check out my other items!

CAUTION when I test played the damage on 2 different t/tables, one played through it, the other got stuck in the groove repetetively until I zeroed the anti skate setting, Sooooo! I can't guarantee that YOUR turntable won't stick in the groove as well.

Tested at 1.5gm headshell weight with 0 and 1.5gm antiskate setting on the two turntables. The sample you hear is recorded on the 0gm antiskate setting, yes it was my digital sampling turntable that wouldn't play through it.....

Check out my other items! More Bach solo Violin and cello suites and Partitas than you can poke a stick at!!!!, er... a bow....

SO that's the bads news, don't say you haven't been warned, and heard it for yourself.

THE GOOOD NEWS is other than the damage spot the rest of that disc and the two others are play rated as NM-, Don't forget Vanguard Connoisseur recordings DO NOT MEAN Audiophile, as in high quality sound reproduction, as good old vanguard vinyl has a certain amount of background hummmm, got nothing to do with damage or wear.

For my regular readers, please note If these weren't extremely rare collectibles I would probably not have bothered to list them. These are really for the Connoisseur of either Szigeti, Bach or violin, not high quality sound reproduction.

Rare USA  edition on 3 LP's Vanguard issued by 'The Bach Guild' Label, stock no. BG 627-9 Maroon Label first issue stampers

RECORDING - 6 Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin(BWV 1001 to BWV 1006) performed by Josef Szigeti, most probably on his Pietro Guarneri violin.

LP Condition 2 are NM-, 1 is VG due to spot damaged already mentioned(BG 628)(see Photo's) Summary - Overall grade is excellent with LIGHT NON PLAYING scuffs visible to the naked eye . The damaged spot on BG 628 LP is in photo with matchstick pointing to the 'SPOT' which under magnification is a damage to the landing that shows as a white spot on the record (see edge of record where stick is pointing in close up photo), it is on the first track  of the opening of Sonata No. 2.  Reverse side of this lp, has a 2cm scuff that LOOKS like a scratch but is non sounding.

THERE IS NO SPINDLE MARKS ON THE LABELS   WHEN I TOOK THEM FROM THE DUST JACKETS, THERE WAS NO FINGER MARKS ONLY a few bits of light dust, which are now removed after full wash.
