VANILLA FUDGE PSYCHEDELIC SUNDAE THE BEST OF LIMITED EDITION 180 GRAM DOUBLE LP SET

Available on vinyl for the first time!

180-gram double LP

Includes insert

Psychedelic Sundae - The Best Of Vanilla Fudge is a best-of album by the American psychedelic rock band Vanilla Fudge released in 1993. The album features songs from their first five albums, including various singles and non-album tracks.

This very generously programmed double LP is available on vinyl for the first time, and is more than just a rehash/compilation for casual fans. Most of the album is comprised of the hit single edits of the group's best-known songs, interspersed with worthy B-sides plus oddities such as a previously unissued single mix of "Ticket to Ride."

The result is a user-friendly overview of Vanilla Fudge, perfect for the neophyte — which doesn't mean that hardcore fans won't also love its array of rarities and singles, mostly showcasing the band's most accessible musical efforts. The excellent sound brings out in sharp relief not only Vanilla Fudge's distinctive musical qualities, but also those attributes that made them a prime influence on the burgeoning heavy metal field.

VANILLA FUDGE S/T 50TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION IN MONO WHITE VINYL FOR THE COLLECTOR

With its mind-altering, waltzing-through-hot-asphalt take on the Supremes’ "You Keep Me Hanging On" scorching the ’67 charts, Vanilla Fudge burst to the forefront of all the "heavy" new combos. The group’s debut disc is re-launched here in its rare and unique mono mix; a decidedly different and more powerful listening experience than the more common stereo release.

VANILLA FUDGE 1ST EDITION RELEASE OF SPIRIT OF 67 LIMITED EDITION LP

Give Vanilla Fudge a strong five stars for this album and as a salute their legendary status as THE heavy rock and roll band ever since the sixties.

Spirit of '67 sounds big, powerful, bowsum, and heavy as only the Fudge can do. Yes, they play their own songs and covers but there has never been any mistaking the unique Vanilla Fudge sound. Crank it up and disturb the neighbors...they might dig it.

It's their unique and powerful arrangements that brand Vanilla Fudge as a truly monumental band, the founding artists of the symphonic rock sound, and one cause of cultural disapproval back in the day. Today with this album the Fudge are fresh, strong, and their talent shines more now than ever before. I'm so happy to hear them pounding/pushing/sizzling/smashing and howling on my speakers again.

I saw the Fudge in their Farewell tour in 2011, and again in February 2015 in this tour, and I'm looking forward to seeing their 50th anniversary tour in 2017. Vanilla Fudge is rocking proof that time on the road and studio for decades is what it takes to be a grand-master band. Go see Vanilla Fudge live if they come to your town!

Fans of classic rock will remember the original hit makers of these songs. Great in the first serving but now with a heaping dripping hot scoop of Vanilla Fudge on top, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, Spencer Davis, The WHO, The Rolling Stones, Procol Harem, and the Monkees are rolling over in their...studios.

As for the album's production, I do resist the glossy pop star perfect note stamp-'em-out safe hit tunes. Not here! That is Mark Stein digging into a Hammond organ with fury and passion where church meets rockin' soul meets big watts to form a wall of sound that makes the Fudge sound so heavy. You have to hear Vince Martel's excellent guitar presence (Ya gotta see him do Season of the Witch LIVE...on fire!). Pete Bremy hits the bass guitar as only a master musician only can. A great bass, an excellent technical set up, and his vocal talent carries the high end in contrast. Carmine Appice is such a great entertainer. His power drums, and stickwork is such a crowd pleaser, and hat's off to his fine work over the years.

Buy Spirit of 67, and look into the Vanilla Fudge library for more loud, proud, and fun sounds from this legendary band. Watch them on YouTube. I sure hope that those folks in that lakeside building in Cleveland finally come around to honor the real deal master entertainers of our day like the Vanilla Fudge.
