M.S.R. Records / Monoaural 210Perhaps the best song poem collection ever! For many, this is "The Holy Grail". 1969 pressing LP with original 1st ever pressing of "Beat Of The Traps" & "Richard Nixon" which is only the tip of the iceberg as far as goodies go for this mega rare top obscurity! Many are familiar with the above 2 mentioned tracks as heard on "Beat Of The Traps" compilation. The rest of the LP is just as remarkable. Some songs are absolute trainwrecks which will bring you back for listen after listen. The pendulum swings towards more psychedelic friendly, and more accessible directions leaving one scratching their head wondering: could some songs be the result of a good trip while others are the result of a bad trip or was Rod playing jokes on the writer(s) on some of the numbers? A couple tracks have the falsetto singing Rod mocking a female vocalist just like the treatment given on the track comped elsewhere & familiar to collectors, "Just The Other Woman". This is one of the most bizarre efforts from Rod or any song poem operation for that matter. Moodiest, most unstable, yet brilliant of collections I have ever heard!

Nice used copy. Only one track (Resurrection by Ruth Tiller) shows scratch that can be felt on fingertips, while rest of record appears Near Mint. Record plays fine with no skips or jumps and if not for the appearance of the one previously mentioned scratch, record would rate Near Mint by strict Goldmine Magazine visual grading standards. Record rates overall Very Good+ with Near Mint new looking bright yellow labels. Sleeve rates on lower end of Very Good+, just sneaking by a Very Good grading with one corner of upper spine showing noticeable edgewear while rest of jacket looks fine. Back of sleeve is blank. Sleeve is free of marks with only short begining seam split confined to one corner. Jacket lloks awesome with bright unmarked anf unfaded original colors.
