Despite having been played many times, here's a very nice original UK first issue copy of this early hard to find Tamla Motown compilation LP from 1964 featuring tracks from THE MARVELETTES, THE MIRACLES, MARY WELLS, MARTHA & THE VANDELLAS, BARRETT STRONG & THE SUPREMES with "THE 'SOUND' OF THE R. & B. HITS" on the UK STATESIDE imprint # SL 10077. Track listing is per the photograph.
This copy plays perfectly throughout with great audible quality and remains in excellent condition with just the lightest trace of crackle on the run-in and run-out groove and between tracks and with light surface sleeve rubs and hairline scratches not affecting play, definitely nothing in the way of deep scratches or clicks. It has the solid centre but the labels do have 'WOL' on both sides in the form of a previous owner's name and file number. Spindle wear is noticeable but still a very decent copy of this hard to find album for the collector. Paired with its original matching cover and inner sleeve that remain in very good condition without any written annotations as well as a few age related creases and discolouration. A very reasonable starting price for such a scarce album (see picture scans).
The record has been play graded and is from my personal collection that I'm downsizing so why not check out my other listings for more great sounds.
