German behemoth ZYX Records owns the largest catalogue of Italo-disco tracks in the world, with its archives not only containing early-to-mid 1980s originals, but also songs recorded and released at different points ever since. That means that their regular compilations are always worth checking. Here they focus once more on the more intergalactic end of the Italo spectrum, via a fourth instalment of their 'Italo Space Synth' series. There's plenty to get the blood pumping and the synapses snapping, with our picks of a strong bunch including the jangly guitars, throbbing bass and soaring synth motifs of 'Astrodance (Computer Remix)' by Hypnosis, the surging synths-in-space Hi-NRG excitement of Laserdance's 'Technoid (Space version)', the classic Italo of Koto's 'Dragons Legend (Maxi Version)', and the bubbly eccentricity of Flexx's 'Flexxy Ball Theme (instrumental version)'.
