Description

THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO , Verve LP V6-5008 with UNPEELED BANANA COVER . This is the 1968 East Coast pressing ( matrix numbers MGS-558 REV / MGS-559-RE-1 ) . The front cover banana sticker is , as pictured , intact but with some imperfections including a small tear about an inch from the tip on the lefthand side and a flawed spot at the center  ( pictures can be supersized to show more detail ) .  The cover is otherwise as shown , with only moderate soiling on the inner gatefold but fairly considerable wear on the back .  Vinyl is better than average VG , close to VG+ , not quite as pristine as it appears in the photos , with some minor scuffs and , at the moment , a little dust ,  but looks good overall and plays well with moderate surface noise during softer passages .  Both appearance and playability would be improved by a careful cleaning , but I do not have professional cleaning equipment , so have refrained for fear of doing more harm than good .
