COVER CONDITION : VG general wear, 5" top seam split, very faint name in pen upper left front, starting spine split. intact portion of banana does not appear to have ever been peeled. presents well from the front. includes label inner sleeve.
VINYL CONDITION : looks VG with various scuffs & light scratches, no nasty scratches, still nice & glossy. nice clean labels. i've played it start to finish, and overall it sounds great. i did notice on the nico vocal tracks there is some vocal distortion, most obvious on A3 and B3, less obvious on A6. not sure if its this copies mastering or if somebody just played those tracks a ton with a worn needle or something. in any case, i'd say those nico tracks play more like G+ while the rest of the album sounds closer to VG+. certainly an enjoyable listen if you're not expecting a mint copy (and they don't play mint anyway, so you know)...
NOTES : solid 1967 original MONO pressing of this most iconic of debut albums. this is an east coast 1st mono press, with the black "lawsuit" sticker covering the emerson torso on the rear cover, and of course the andy warhol peel-able banana sticker front. i've always thought this was the coolest version to own since the huge bold black & white lawsuit sticker aesthetically ties this in nicely with the cover design of their next two albums (not to mention the rare 3rd album promo sticker)... one of the totally essential lps to own in its original mono form. not a perfect copy but still very solid. front cover looks real nice if you're after a display piece.
