Up for auction is a RARE original US Mono 1st pressing album from THE VELVET UNDERGROUND & NICO

LP was released by Verve in High Fidelity Mono as V-5005 in 1965. This is an original US pressing and not a reissue of any kind!
 
EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL FIRST MONO PRESSING WITH STICKER COVERING THE TORSO OF ACTOR ERIC EMERSON. A LAWSUIT CAME ABOUT FROM THE USE OF HIS IMAGE FROM A  PERFORMANCE THAT WAS ALSO USED ON THE BACK ALBUM COVER OF THIS LP. THE RESULT WAS A RECALL OF THE FIRST PRINTING OF THE ALBUMS. THIS IS ONE OF THE RECALLED ALBUMS THAT HAD THE STICKER AFFIXED TO IT!!

CONDITION:
Vinyl is in SOLID VG (Very Good) grade Condition. Plays nicely at typically VG+ condition!

Front Album Cover: Original Andy Warhol Banana Peel is mostly intact!!! The top inch banana portion is missing. About an inch of bottom end of the banana has come slightly undone. There was evidence of clear scotch tape that covered the bottom inch of banana from peeling. I cleaned up the residue from this tape pretty well, but some of the residue of the adhesive from tape is still visible.
Black Sticker on Back Covering Emerson's upside down torso shows some fairly standard wear. There is a crease in sticker (located at both of the 'R's  in 'Underground' and 'Warhol').

Rest of Gatefold Album Cover in overall nicely preserved state with some standard shelf wear and age yellowing towards edges. Light Ring wear noticeable on back and visible on sticker.
Inside Gatefold is very well preserved with some light age yellowing towards outer edges!!!
Includes Original Verve Factory Inner Sleeve in overall nice state!!!
