Description

THE VELVET UNDERGROUND "The Velvet Underground & Nico" LP . This is the rare original issue from 1967 on Verve V6-5008 in stereo!! This features the Andy Warhol cover with the rare UNPEELED BANANA!! This is the nicest one I have ever had. Check out the photos below!!

  • Condition/Cover : The gatefold cover is in beautiful VG++ condition with a fully intact, unpeeled banana (see photos below!!). There is some very light soiling on the white cover (this can probably be cleaned) which is the only problem here. There is NO ringwear, NO seamsplits, NO writing, NO creases & the corners are all sharp. NICE!! In the photo below, the spot at the bottom of the cover is from the flash of my camera. This is NOT on the cover. Flash only.


  • Condition/Vinyl : The vinyl shines like new with 100% gloss but is only in VG condition. This plays with noise & an occasional pop but NO skips. This auction is really for the cover though.


  • Condition/Labels : The labels are in NM/NM- condition.


  • Comments : This would make a great addition to any Velvet Underground collection. These are getting rarer & rarer so bid now!! Check out the photos below because it tells the story here. I forgot to mention that this is the rarer cover with the band framed by the male torso on the back.
Also, PLEASE NOTE: In my photo of the front cover, the Andy Warhol print is all perfectly there & it is only the flash of my camera that you see at the bottom center. What a BEAUTIFUL cover this is!!

PLEASE NOTE: I made a mistake....this is NOT the torso cover, it is the 3rd state cover where the torso has been airbrushed off. I am sorry for any confusion. This is still, none the less, a very rare cover especially in this condition.
