Description
Velvet Underground and Nico, original US album on Verve V-5008
This cover has the banana peel, minus a small section near the top. The back cover
has a sticker across the back, touting the band and producer Andy Warhol. This was added to early
pressings to cover up Eric Emerson's image in the light show behind the group's stage shot.
He claimed it was an unauthorized use of his photo and demanded payment. Verve's solution
was to blur out his likeness. On the copies already manufactured they added this sticker. The cover
shows some wear, including ring wear on the back. The spine writing is intact.
The record looks VG- but plays amazing well (love those vintage mono pressings!), with few, if any, ticks,
wear and no skips. It comes in the original Verve inner sleeve.
