Venturing is the side project of Jane Remover and she frames Ghostholding as a coming-of-age document filtered through fiercely independent production. Written in the famously uneasy transition out of high school, the album conveys the disorientation of adolescence in suburban America with a diaristic style and emotionally exposed lyrics rooted in queer identity and self-discovery. Musically, it fuses DIY rock textures with lo-fi, nostalgic synth work for a fractured but cohesive sound world. Vulnerability and sonic ambition both cement Remover's reputation as she reshapes the boundaries of genre, seemingly with ease.
