At first glance I thought this 1970 Vertigo large swirl LP 6360 500 was unplayed and hence mint! I've had it for decades and cannot remember how and when I acquired it. Suffice it to say it's been in the collection tucked away undisturbed for a very very long time. Please excuse the light shadowing on the backdrop sheet in the photos which came out a bit yellow.
The gatefold matt sleeve is a super clean, fresh feeling, solid example. As I say, it's had minimal handling and what cover wear there is solely due to its' age of 47 years young. Nothing to report except a hint of corner and the odd edge wear due to storage and handling over time. I give it a condition rating of at least 9/10 without hesitation.
Labels are very nice thank you as the photos show. On the adjacent run-off grooves the machine etching is 6360 500 1Y#1 420 1 1 21 on side A and 6360 500 1Y#1 420 1 1 16 on side B. But note the hash is really an inverted triangle! To repeat, I had to look long and hard for any evidence of play at the virgin looking spindle holes. I believe there is a tenuous sign of spindle tracking at each hole so my belief it's only had one play in its' lifetime.
My opinion is supported by the great condition of the vinyl. Of course it's flat with no dishing and in normal light it looks mint. You have to angle it under an unforgiving bright light to see any evidence of scuffs which typically are a result of inserting and withdrawing the record from the inner sleeve along with nominal handling activity. Believe me, these are no problem, it truly is a great piece of plastic and is also worthy of a 9/10 rating.
Finally, the inner sleeve is the white / black spiral original issue with a folded rear and polythene liner. As the photos show it's in clean, bright and untorn condition and the minimal browning is purely down to time.
