VERY RARE 45 Pioneer Detroit Soul The Gambrell’s Jive Talk Find A Love DJ COPY !
This was incredibly difficult to find information on because it’s such a rare 45. According to many of my musicphile friends this is valued at just over $500. The last two attached pictures from Discogs is the info one of my friends sent me showing the value.
I’ve messaged the 3 people who’ve said they want this 45 on the Discogs website, so this listing may end quickly if one of them responds back.
This 45 is in near mint condition. It’s missing any original sort of sleeve, but has been in a DECCA sleeve for decades. My great aunt was part of the 1950’s & 60’s Detroit Motown & Soul Music scene.
I don’t know the story behind this exact DJ Copy 45, but she did talk about exchanging some seamstress costume tailoring work for free 45’s ( she was the head Seamstress for Hudson’s Dept store in Detroit) .
This is a part of 1960’s Detroit Soul history and I hope it gets fully appreciated at its next home!
