Description
Very Rare. First time for sale. I have checked Popsike, Discogs, Music Stack and private sales and have found no sales of this record. There have only been 6 sales of his original records- 3- His 1962 Lp Jazz Fantasia 2- Early Mart (a tribute record he plays on) 1- HMV 78
There was a limited run of 30 reissues of Gideon Plays made by someone in Germany, I assume that they had an original that they copied from.
About the Artist: Gideon "Mgibe" Nxumalo [nk???mal?] (born 15 June 1929 in Kimberley; died 24 December 1970) was a South African jazz pianist and marimba player, acclaimed also as a composer and arranger. Nxumalo has been hailed as “perhaps one of South Africa’s greatest unsung musical and cultural heroes.
