GRADING FOR LP'S
Near Mint (M-)
Jacket: Minor imperfections due to handling may be present but no seam splits, cut-out holes or egregious writing.
Very minor corner bumps or wear may be present. The condition and presence of any inserts will be described. If no mention of lyric sheets, posters, pictures or inserts is made - assume either a generic or factory inner sleeve.  
Vinyl: Vinyl and labels will appear rarely if ever handled or played. There may be only the slightest indication of handling in the form of an inconsequential very light scuff or two or very light spindle marks. The surface of the record will have retained all of it’s original lustre. Looks and feels like an almost-new record.
Very Good Plus (VG+) 
Jackets: Light, typical shelf, seam, spine or corner wear may be present. Light discoloration and light foxing may also be present. Clean saw marks, cut-out-holes or drill holes may be present. Any inserts may show signs of handling i.e. seam splits or corner creases. Anything more than a few of the minor defects listed above will lower the grade. 
Vinyl:  Vinyl and labels may have typical signs of gentle play and handling. Record surfaces may show some light signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light surface scratches that will not detract from playback. Light spindle marks may be present. My VG+ records are excellent.
Very Good (VG) 
Jacket: May be marred by writing, creases, edge or seam wear or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. Checks, minor seam splits, creases may be present. 
Vinyl: May have surface noise that will be evident upon playing but will not overpower the music. Groove wear may be noticeable, and light scratches will likely affect the sound. Definitely no skips. Labels may show writing, stickers, moderate spindle wear or other moderate defects.  _____________________________

Muhammad Rifat (sometimes spelled Rif'at or Rifaat) (May 9, 1882 – May 9, 1950) was the first Quran reciter to read on Egyptian Cairo Radio on May 31, 1934, and his voice and style, as well as his general character, have been promoted as a model of the ideal reciter.
Rifat is often praised for correlating melody to the meaning of the Qur'anic Verses, a feat known in Arabic as tasweer al-mana.
Rifat completed memorisation of the Qur'an by the age of ten. He then studied the rules of recitation under Sheikh Mohammed Al-Bughdadi and Sheikh Al-Samalouti.
In addition to his work on radio, Sheikh Rifat was the official reciter of the Qur'an at Mustapha Pacha mosque in Cairo for more than 25 years until, in 1942, he contracted an illness which left him unable to continue.
On the day that Sheikh Mohammed Rifat died, announcers around the world proclaimed the loss of one of the Islamic beacons of light.

OUR GRADING PHILOSOPHY AND STANDARDS
We are not fans of "VG+++++” type grading that seems to have permeated  the online vinyl sales universe.
A platter is either Near Mint (M-) or it’s not. 
In order to make sure you know what you are bidding on or buying,  the following are our grading standards.
Near Mint (M-)
The Jacket (s): Only minor imperfections due to handling are present. Certainly no seam splits, cut-out holes, egregious writing or other noticeable defects. Jackets may have very minor corner bumps or slight wear. The condition and presence of any inserts like lyric sheets, printed inner sleeves or posters will be described. 
The Vinyl (s): Vinyl and labels will appear rarely if ever handled or played. There may be only the slightest indication of handling in the form of an inconsequential very light scuff, or a very light spindle mark. The surface of the record will have retained all of it’s original lustre and shine and will look, feel and sound like an almost-new record. Aside from any surface particles and/or dust that can be easily blown or cleaned off; playback will not be impeded by surface noise.
Very Good Plus (VG+) 
The Jacket (s): Light shelf, seam, spine or corner wear may be present. Light discoloration and light foxing may also be present. Egregious COH's, saw mark's, cut corners or writing will lower the grade however the presence of non-egregious marks will not. It’s case by case. Any inserts may show signs of handling i.e. seam splits or corner creases. Anything more than a few of the minor defects listed above will lower the grade. 

The Vinyl (s): Vinyl and labels will likley reveal signs that the record was gently played and handled. Record surfaces may show some light signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light surface scratches that don’t sound. Spindle marks may be present, minor pops and clicks may be present but will not detract from playback. Our VG+ records are excellent and will provide a very enjoyable listening experience. 

Very Good (VG) 
Jacket and Vinyl will show moderate signs of handling and play. Surface noise will be evident upon playing but will not overpower the music. Groove wear may start to be noticeable, and light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) will likely affect the sound. Labels may show moderate spindle marks or other light defects, and jacket may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. Checks, writing, minor seam splits, creased corners and/or tears may be present.
