PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER).  OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.


You never know what you'll find in old LPs.  I just happened to look inside this one and there it was.  An incredibly rare original flyer from 1977 for Rashaan Roland Kirk's last to-be show here in Chicago at the Jazz Showcase at 901 No. Rush Street which never took place due his untimely death that day.  The former owner of this LP had enough forethought to keep this show flyer and jot down on the top that "They announced while we were there he had expired that day in Ohio.  This was his last to-be appearance in Chicago which never took place" (although he supposedly died in Indiana).  The LP is an ultra rare first STEREO Mercury black label pressing from 1962!  LP is a beautiful VG++ and cover is easily VG+, close to VG++, with just a hint of foxing.  Good luck finding another one of these flyers.



I USE GOLDMINE GRADING:   MINT (SEALED) NEAR MINT: LOOKS UNPLAYED VG++:  VERY VERY MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE VG+:  AVERAGE SIGNS OF USE, NOTHING DEEP, SUPERFICIAL VG:  STILL AN OK RECORD, NOISE BETWEEN SONGS GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR:  FILLER COPY ONLY.  LOTS OF SCRATCHES
