This album was The Beatles FIRST release on the now famous Apple label. It was entered into the charts on the 7th of December 1968 and went straight to number one-where it stayed for 7 weeks! Making it the FIRST double album to get the top slot...EVER!
The rather unusual fact about this album is that it was the first release by The Beatles which contained only SOLO material.
By the time 1970 ended, the total sales of this wonderful album were estimated to be 6.5 Million! However...get this...The only other album that beat this a few years later was "Saturday Night fever" !!!

LOVELY EARLY PRESSING HERE
The Vinyl:
144g/146g
VG+
The vinyl has has needle marks throughout BUT after listening to her ALL THE WAY THROUGH, I only found some light occasional background crackle-which I am sure would improve with just a gentle professional clean.
GLORIOUS MONO
***NOTHING TO MAKE HER JUMP, SKIP OR STICK***
FLAT as the day she was born!
TURN HER UP-I DID ;)
The labels:
NO "An EMI Recording" text to ANY label
VG++. All four of the labels are extremely bright and clean with the DARKER apple.
There are light spindle marks to each label, these can be seen when angling to the light....
VERY NICE!!
Next to NO HOLE WEAR at all!
As you can see in the pictures, there is a name to sides 1 & 3.
"Mfd in the U.K." to each of the labels.
Again;1st print: NO "An EMI Recording" text on ANY of the labels!
*****VERY EARLY PRESSING****
Please see the detailed images provided and click on them to get larger and even more detailed images.
(Do also see my feedback for fair gradings and happy buyers)
The Cover: NUMBERED: 0016986 It is an EARLY first run, with TOP loading.
Garrod and Lofthouse gatefold without tears, rips or writing!!
The spine remains strong and clear, with only a small amount of lifting to the laminate near the top.
IT IS THE RARER 'WIDESPINE' OF 7mm
Correct MONO cover as it doesn't have the printing of Stereo to the back top right.
She is in great condition, but does have the following: There is some light rubbing to the corners. There are two impression marks to the front....really nothing to worry about-just noting for the people out there who believe I am in possesion of a time-machine ;)!
HARDLY ANY spidering to the laminate-really nothing to worry about at all....I think I can spot about 3 small crescents-THAT'S IT!
GLORIOUS and clean on the inside of the gatefold.
(Please see the detailed pictures for yourself-it really is GREAT).
AGAIN, I AM BEING INCREDIBLY CRITICAL!!!
Excellent, very strong Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold....
Just, simply FANTASTIC ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING!!!
Inners: VG++. Original BLACK inners. They are both very well looked after but do carry light wear to each.
FREE FROM SPLITS
They have the die-cut corners and the'windows' on one side to each.
As you can see in the images provided: They just have slight tears neare their windows as well as a bit of feathering to their openings. I state this as I believe buyers want to know what they are getting-not surprises!
THEY ARE ALL ORIGINAL-NOT REPRO!
Pictures: ALL present (John and George, Ringo & Paul) They are EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT AND ORIGINAL.
They DON'T have any pin-holes around their edges...Which was quite typical for the Beatles fans to pin their beau's up on their bedroom wall. All I can see is a few light impressions-THAT IS IT!
Lovely and bright.
Beautiful white backings too!
GORGEOUS
Poster: VG+! Full size and with lyrics to the back.
There are small holes in the central creasing area, as well as a couple of small splits to the edges, along the crease....REALLY NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AT ALL
NO pin holes.
Some light and small spots of staining to the back.
WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED
ALL IN ALL A LOVELY COLLECTORS PIECE HERE...DON'T FORGET:
IT'S THE FIRST MONO PRESS, WITHOUT "AN EMI PRODUCTION" TEXT!!!
low number
WIDE 7mm SPINE
COMPLETE AND IN GREAT CONDITION!
SOUNDS GREAT-LOOKS GREAT-IS GREAT!
