About this Item. This is one of the RAREST Mc5 discs on the planet: THE RARELY seen 7" special promo / preview copy of the Mc5's seminal 45rpm featuring "Kick Out the Jams" b/w "Motor City is Burning" This is one of the RAREST Mc5 artifacts on this planet! I wish they could have played at the Democratic National Convention like they did in 1968; they might have beaten some sense into at least one of our political parties to put up qualified candidates for election.
Anyways, I digress; this is not the usual Mc5 Kick Out the Jams Elektra Records catalogue number release, but the Supremely rare 45rpm with the Mc5-1A / Mc5-1B catalogue and matrix numbers. All 500 copies of this 45rpm were given away to people who attended a 1968 Mc5 concert when they were preaching anti-establishmentarianism, and then when the Mc5 got picked up in a big black limousine after their concert, their fans FREAKED Out as they looked like part of the establishment, and that they were not living their music and message. So hundreds of this special 45rpm were thrown by their fans at the Mc5 and their cool black limo as they cruised back to their likely not-so-luxury hotel; in the rain. Most of the copies sold were ones picked up by folks after the limo left, but, again, IT WAS RAINING! and that is why the labels on most copies are trashed or have major mess on the label. NOT this one! Good luck, no Reserve.

I offer full refund including shipping both ways (for USA and foreign buyers in case for some wildly strange reason you might be unhappy with this purchase. Comes hand-cleaned on my VPI 16.5 Record Cleaning machine (hate those automated 17's) and placed in a new dust-free sleeve for your grandchildren. And at least one plastic sleeves for moisture protection (for you and me).
Cover Condition: No cover or PS, never was one.
Vinyl Condition: Very Good Plus (VG+). Vinyl looks nice VG+, but while Kick Out the Jams plays nice EX, Motor City plays only VG with some background noise, so I average to VG+.
Labels. Killer Near Mint (NM) preview labels that you will never be able to upgrade. Per my above comments, few copies are known without label tears and water damage from the rain storm and Mc5 fan storm that hurled these precious plastic discs upon the limo of the Mc5. Please see photos of all labels.
Inserts: No inserts, of course.
Packaging. I clean all vinyl as noted above, and place it in a new innersleeve so the old dust does not reattach; but I also include the innersleeve that came with the LP if it is the original. I separate the vinyl in its new sleeve after cleaning from the cover, and place the cover and the separately packed vinyl in at least one if not two plastic innersleeves that help protect against moisture damage during this cool records transition to your record collection. I use sturdy carboard containers with real corners and pack with at least two insert stiffeners, and I place neon stickers on the front and back of the package indicating “Do Not Bend” and/or “Fragile” or something like that to help facilitate a safe passage.
