VIC FLICK - SWINGS AND ROUNDABOUTS. Joseph Weinberger Records JW415 UK Stereo LP 1977. ORIGINAL PRESSING WITH LAMINATED SLEEVE. Condition: EX+/EX+ (sounds and looks perfect and unplayed).
You have to hear the three KILLER open drum breaks on track 1 alone with deep bass clarinet in a catchy Reggae style. Lovely flute in the screaming Harold McNair style and electric piano on track 2. Light happy flute, acoustic guitar and drums on track 3. Uber cool Morse code electric piano with heavy electric guitar and drums on track 4. HEAVY distorted phased electric guitar and clavinet on the psych fuzz funk drums track 5. Gentle romantic acoustic guitar and electric piano on track 6. So nice. Side 2 opens with blaxploitation thriller rough horns, heavy heavy heavy drums, guitar and basslines as JW say: "good title music for major projects." Like Number One chart singles for example if that's your thing. Track 2 drum and marimba break intro to lazy happy exotica with a Caribbean vibe. Very fast tempo funk on track 3 with rough horns, guitar, electric piano, drums and vibes. KILLER blaxploitation funk drums and wah-wah fuzz guitar on track 4 a real "Rough Diamond". HEAVY basslines and drums contrasts with the pretty flugel horn lead on track 5. This classic album finishes with a trippy downtempo electric piano and glock extended intro into guitar and deep basslines that will shake your home apart. Vic Flick - truly a great guitarist and composer.
Side 1: Sassy Sunshine, Chopper, Bees Knees, Time After Time, Gotcha!, Poppyfield.
Side 2: Multistory, Loosen Up, A Degree Of Persuasion, Rough Diamond, Black Chiffon, If............
