Chilean minimal legend Ricardo Villalobos has mambo cult tunes to his name, and his fine Salvador trilogy is very much part of that canon. They all came out between 1998 and 2000 on Frisbee Trackstt and are now reissued by Rawax as part of his own ongoing series. The epic A-side is a nearly 13-minute odyssey: 'Que Belle Epoque 2006' sweeps you off your feet with a fuller sound than usual - the drums and bass are gloopy and liquid with big vocals bursting out and fading away to the urgent groove. 'Logohitz' is the more acid-soaked and freaky for the afters with a hurried kick pattern and undulating synths that never quit.
