IL GIORNO DEL KARATE' / SABATO SERA DALLE 9 ALLE 10 ... 7-inch, 45rpm OST single by VITO TOMMASO e la sua ORCHESTRA. Original Italian pressing on the RCA label (TPBO 1001), from 1974. Desirable, Italian soundtrack by the cult arranger (and orchestra director behind Peppino De Luca's La Ragazza Con La Pistola OST Lp). This killer lounge funk item is (for us, anyway) one of the most elusive of all releases with that Poliziotteschi / euro blaxploitation / Italian cop thriller sound. Shades of Gianni Ferrio - Step By Step from La Poliziotta on the sleazy IL GIORNO DEL KARATE theme. Tons of B-boy drums - congas - basslines with flute / cuica / wah wah guitar / hammond / fender rhodes / synthesizers and jazzy horn section. Actually, a suite in 2 phases but it is the long 1st phase that has all the funk. Great for DJs. Comped on Ambiente Elegante for the Studio Uno label. The SABATO SERA DALLE 9 ALLE 10 side is jazzy lounge with waltz rhythms and a hint of the ever stylish, Berto Pisano sound of the period. Please note, our soundclip has been edited down to only record the funky 1st phase of IL GIORNO DEL KARATE' followed by the full SABATO SERA DALLE 9 ALLE 10 theme. Striking artwork sleeve. Rare OST 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG+ condition with some light scuffs and hairlines. Light surface noises. A few soft pops / ticks to the "Sabato Sera Dalle..." side (as you can hear on the soundclip). The soft card picture sleeve is in strong VG+ condition with ring creasing / corner and edge wear. One, mini tear to middle open side of back sleeve. Rare OST 45!!!
