Description

VTG 1956 ELVIS PRESLEY DOUBLE DISC RCA 45 SET EPB-1254 IN GATE-FOLD PINK & GREEN SLEEVE. The two-record 45rpm set offered here is Elvis Presley’s first release on the RCA label. The liner notes on the inside of the gate-fold introduce RCA’s newest recording star. The first four cuts on each side of the Elvis Presley LP were presented on this two-record set, which also used the same cover photo as the LP. Elvis Presley was the only double EP sold directly to the public. Two years after its release, it appeared on Billboard's EP chart for three weeks, peaking at #9. This LP includes the first releases of the following songs: Side 1: “Blue Suede Shoes,” “I’m Counting on You”; Side 2: “I Got a Woman,” “One-Sided Love Affair”; Side 3: “Tutti Frutti,” “Tryin’ to Get You”; Side 4: “I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Cry,” “I’ll Never Let You Go.” The first record contains sides 1 and 4; the second record contains sides 2 and 3. Both records are in very good condition, with some superficial wear and no scratches that cause skips. The sleeve is also in very good condition, with no tears or punctures and only some light discoloration on the inside. This is a must have for any Elvis enthusiast and would make an excellent Father’s Day gift.
