Van Morrison - Astral Weeks, 1973 UK catno K46024.
This is a repress of Van Morrisons brilliant Astral Weeks with a different style of label to most and much rarer as a result. The matrix numbers identify it as such on Discogs with:
Side 1 - K 46024 A3
Side 2 - K 46024 B3 (as pictured)
This is my fathers single owner example he bought new back in the early 70s and has been stored in the collection crate and unseen since at least 1983 when we moved home.
Vinyl - an easy NM condition. Under maglite there is a few faint hairlines and a tiny scuff to each side but truly minor and it still presents almost as new, in fact many new pressings look alot more used. The labels are clean and the record is flat. I cannot playtest as dads vintage LP12 is out of order. There is simply no need. Though excellent already a good clean would still be worthwhile.
Jacket/inner - jacket is laminate front to card rear and in good condition. Theres a crease to the front bottom and some nr the spine. The rear is uncreased but has some minor stains which havent made it to the inner. There is bo seem or spine splits and only a smidge of crush to the spine. Integrity is excellent and fit to last decades more just isnt the nicest visually. Inner sleeve is paper original, uncreased and much like new. Has been upgraded with all important Nagaoka poly liner.
Overall then, short of a sealed archive copy this must be as good as it gets vinyl wise with a very good jacket and inner to boot. The vinyl condition, rarer labels, single ownership and known history of next to no plays means this is another clear winner to be bought with total confidence and the price thus reflects all the above.
