Description
This is an original sealed mint mono pressing of the first LP by the psych rock group Vanilla Fudge, released by Atco Records in 1967. It is known to be first pressing as Atco never released a subsequent pressing in that period in mono. There still affixed to the shrink wrap in the top left corner the original store price sticker. This LP in the mono format is very rare with near mint copies booking for $60.
Vanilla Fudge is an American rock band known predominantly for their psychedelic renditions of popular songs. The band's original lineup—vocalist/organist Mark Stein, bassist/vocalist Tim Bogert, lead guitarist/vocalist Vince Martell and drummer/vocalist Carmine Appice—recorded five albums during the years 1966–69, before disbanding in 1970. The band has reunited in various configurations over the years, and is currently operating with three of the four original members, Mark Stein, Vince Martell, and Carmine Appice with Pete Bremy on bass for Tim Bogert who has retired from touring. The band has been cited as "one of the few American links between psychedelia and what soon became heavy metal.
The LP is sealed with all corners sharp with the exception of the lower mouth corner which has slight ding, as are the other three corners.The top and bottom seams are solid as is the spine with no splits. The front and back of cover are excellent with just a touch of ring wear and yellowing at the bottom front of the cover as well as very light yellowing and a tiny brown spot at the bottom back of the cover.
The LP is being sold with no reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of close of auction.
