This box set,designed to replicate the original speaker design, contains fifteen rare Studio One singles as well as a poster, booklet, 45 adapter, and a keychain, and is compiled from the extensive Studio One catalogue to honor the pioneering Jamaican soundman Clement Dodd, who started recording in the early 1950s.
House Of Joy was the name used in Jamaica for the the large wooden speakers that powered the early dancehalls. Featuring singles with the original labels this collection mines the rich history of Studio One and is a true testimony of the label's greatness.
The original 7"s are almost impossible to track down these days and would be over £1.5k to source the originals
