Description
"The Velvet Underground & Nico" Verve V-5008, Mono, Blue/Silver deep groove label, 1967. Produced by Andy Warhol.
THE COVER: is in VG+ condition; there is moderate soiling on the front cover (esp. at the bottom front) as well as light-to-moderate ringwear on the back. The inside of the gatefold has light discoloration along the center seam. There is a 1.5" seam split at the top edge, right side (open end). This is the original 'inverted torso projection' cover shot taken from a VU gig at the Exploding Plastic Inevitable.
THE BANANA: is in VG+/NM- condition, is fully intact, unpeeled, with crisp edges, no wrinkles, bright color. The early mono covers in particular have an 'shifted upward' printing offset that causes the top of the banana stem to curl over the top edge and lift off ever so slightly, though the banana peel itself is positioned exactly over the fruit below.
THE RECORD: is in VG+/VG++ condition, with deep groove mono labels. Note: there are light sleeve scuffs, a few light hairlines, some slight occasional surface noise, but the vinyl retains much of its original surface sheen and generally plays well throughout. If you seek something nearer to mint, keep seeking, but good luck with that quest - this is as nice a mono copy as we've seen in the last decade. includes a stock Verve inner sleeve.
