Velvet Underground (Andy Warhol related)/The Velvet Underground & Nico-Produced by Andy Warhol (Banana cover)/Verve V6-5008 1967). Gatefold LP with Andy Warhol banana cover jacket with company (Verve) inner sleeve. Psych-garage rock.
G-/VG (record/jacket.) (Keep in mind I rarely, rarely use mint grades because I think they are abused and over-used!) Record is only along for the ride...this auction is for the cover. Record unfortunately has been played with a bad needle and has significant crackle throughout. Cosmetically, the record has many marks and scratches, as well. (LISTEN! High quality mp3 sound sample is provided, please allow time for it to load.) Labels are clean, as shown. Jacket shows some general wear, as shown. Banana looks as though it has been about half to 2/3rds peeled and then placed back in place. The top of the banana at the base of the stem is torn through, as shown in the close up picture provided. Top seam has two inch split at the right at record opening. Bottom seam, gatefold hinge and spine are all fully intact.

Any cropping, color shift or distortion of the image is the scan or photo, not the item. Any curvature in the LP cover is from a tight shot with a camera...the curvature is the lens! Jacket is perfectly square.
I grade tough, and many customers report items received as better than described...see my feedback).
