Velvet Underground Orig. U.S. Promo LP ST Self MGM SE 4617 Psych
We are offering an original U.S.Yellow Label promo pressing of
The Velvet Underground's self titled 3rd LP
This was released on MGM records catalog number SE 4617, in Stereo …released in 1969.
The front cover has a DJ Not For Sale sticker in the center,
and the cover shows very minor ring wear.
A very tough record to find with-out any ring wear due to the darkness of the front cover.
The back cover has a blackened-out area on the upper left...approx. 2 inches by 1 inch.
I would guess that this is where the radio station call-letters once were.
No splits to the seams or spine (everything is very tight, stiff like new).
Very minor rubbing on the corners.
The record plays over all VG+ …but there is slight occasional background noise,
(not always) during the quiet moments.
This does not distract from the recorded sound.
There are also a number of hairline marks here and there
(most likely from being removed from the sleeve).
On side 2 there is a light surface mark which you can feel, but it does not tick every time the needle passes through it… only a couple of times.
Labels have no writing or marks.
The Original MGM is in crisp like-new condition.
I would rate this a 8.5 on a 1 to 10 scale, with 10 being the best!
