Description
About This Record. This an insanely rare and necessary MONO yellow label promo version of The Velvet Underground’s second and best LP entitled White Light White Heat. Verve Records V-5046. Stock mono copies were never pressed, although mono covers turn up with stereo discs or a precious yellow label promo disc like this, or even a more precious white label promo version. This is Lou Reed and Nico and John Cale and Maureen Tucker and friends at their wildest. I'm sure Andy is still smiling now.

Vinyl Condition. This RARE Mono yellow label Verve V-5046 promo vinyl is a Strong VG- overall. PLAYs strong EX/better except for the defects noted below because this is bright and especially shiny Vinyl that, while it looks G to G+ because it has 6-12 light stylus marks on each side and some paper scuffs, it plays very well on my especially sensitive Micro Benz LP cartridge at 1.05 grams. The song The Gift has a light scratch that makes about a dozen or so light sporadic clicks/pops that are audible but not so extremely annoying, and Lady Godiva has about 6-10 clicks/pops, and There She Comes has 4 or 5 clicks/pops. Side 2 is similar, with some short passages of clicks and pops. Absolutely no skips, no sticks and no jumps, I guarantee it as my cartridge is very particular and sensitive. This is a very very strong playing MONO yellow label promo LP, and this mono mix is a killer, not available elsewhere, with different mixes here and there. Great player.
Cover Condition. Fair. (This means the cover has some serious problems, but it is not BAD although these things can be subjective) The cover has no tape on it, and is weakly intact, held feebly together by itself. Ring Wear on front cover and ½ back cover. Major writing on front and back cover in black marker that says has radio station call letters and velvet underground. Spines and Seams are almost totally split but are still held together, miraculously. The original skull cover is clearly visible and not marked on. See photos.
Label Condition. EX- with light wear and some spindle marks. Absolutely no writing, no stickers (never was any, so obviously no residue), no major problems whatsoever, just some spindle marks and light age wear. Very very nice labels! Really tough to find these without radio station call letters written on them! SEE PHOTOs

Common LPs are a waste of your time and mine! I bought this many years ago during my travels and have kept in well preserved. This comes in a new rice paper equivalent sleeve, and new plastic sleeve.
