Venezuela sexy PSYCH / COOL JAZZ soundtrack DANA sixties
One of our favorite soundtracks. It's from the movie DANA from sixties Venezuela and features a cool range of styles. Jazzteto plays exellent and existential cool jazz - like in the best sixties nouvelle vague films - on the largest part of the record. Three long tracks in all, "Juegos", "Meditacion de Alcoba" and "Dana Nova", a great bossa nova tune. The recordings are with super-reverb and with some spherical dialogues mixed in at points like you are in some beatnik cave. Orquestra Venezuela Pop playes three tunes, two with vocals by Nancy Ramos and Carlos Morean, which we like a lot too, although it's full of pathos. Also one Ennio Moricone style track. Then there's a long total freak out tune called Psico-ritmos (psychedelic rhythm) by the group The Love Depression with wild fuzz. The tunes are composed by Jesus Ignacio Perez Perazzo.
Souvenir SLP 13 40 Venezuela, 1960's. The sleeve is G, with 2/3 splits, water damage, a sticker, some folds and writing. The record is a strong VG+. A very interesting record for soundtrack collectors, people who like exotic jazz or who are into south american psychedelic music. I recently hunted down a better copy for big bucks and that was only the second time I ever saw it. The movie itself is also very obscure, it's not in IMDB!
