Description
Venom's "Here Lies Venom" 4 Lp box set. Very rare and legendary box set release of Venom's first 3 albums, each with BONUS tracks not found on the regular issued albums, plus an exclusive limited live picture disc, American Assault! This special box set is numbered to 5000, and this is # 1935. This is a must own for every Venom collector!!
The box itself has seen better days, but it's still all there and functions. The problem is, the previous owner apparently didn't realize the inner box only fits one way, and so there are a couple seam splits, but the box still holds the LPs fine because the inner box is not split. The special sleeves made for this release are rough also : only "At War With Satan" sleeve is in its original state, although it is split down both sides. The other two have been cut out and pasted to white inner sleeves. This is not a big deal though, because they don't have lyrics pictures, etc. In fact, I have upgraded the inner sleeves to Moblie Fidelity inner sleeves for safe storage of the records. The Welcome to Hell, Black Metal, and At War w Satan vinyls themselves are actually very playable, with varying marks from fine hairlines to a few larger marks. None of the records skip, only slight crackle and pops at the quiet parts (which on a Venom record are few and far between!). I would grade these conservatively at VG, but they play like VG+. These are not perfect copies, they are very serviceable copies for people that want to play these records and enjoy them. if you want a mint copy, this is not for you. They are more than fine to play, but I just don't want the buyer to be led into thinking these are top copies when they aren't. This is Venom - it should sound like this!! The pic disc is VG+ with only very light marks. Lots of spins left in these slabs of wax! Despite some of the package issues, this is still a very rare and sought after Venom collectible, and the buy it now reflects a fair price, all things considered. Own a piece of black metal history for half of what you would normally pay for this!!
