Here is a practically mint condition copy of Vernon Joynson's epic discography of US Peyschedelic, Garage, and Hippie Rock music. Containing some 568 fully indexed pages, with an 8 page full colour section featuring the covers to some of the rarer albums covered in the book, this is the definitive guide to US Psych and garage rock from the mid-1960's through to the mid-1970's. It is an essential reference for the collector of 1960's rock and roll, and also contains much in the way of social commentary concerning the period. All the great US bands are here that you would expect, The Doors, Creedence, Velvet Underground etc. But the book will introduce you to dozens of lesser known acts, such as Sagittarius and Notes from the Underground. If one trusts the taste of the author Joynson and checks out some of the recommended bands via their burgeoning reissues, then one may well be very pleasantly surprised. The book is superbly illustrated throughout with excellent reproductions of album and picture sleeve covers, as well as the numerous band photographs that are dotted throughout the nearly 600 pages. All in all, I connot recommend this book highly enough as it is quite simply the greatest discography to have been compiled for 1960's US rock and pop music. It cannot possibly be surpassed, such is it's total completeness and scope.
